The Montabaur Castle Hotel is a baroque gem. It can be seen from miles away and is one of the best conference hotels in Germany. With more than 70,000 overnight stays a year, the building in the Westerwald hills is also one of the largest hotels in the Rhineland-Palatinate. The original castle dates back to the year 959, although it received its present shape in about 1700.
Since spa facilities and relaxation are at the heart of every modern conference hotel, Montabaur Castle also features an exquisite business spa which was thoroughly renovated between 2008 and 2011. During construction works, about 800 m2 of AQUAPANEL® Cement Board Indoor were used for both straight and curved partition walls, facing formwork, and ceilings. Here, the water-resistant, robust, and flexible, easy-to-handle, drylining board made use of all its advantages. It was installed in all wet areas, from pools and showers, through to the sauna areas, and then covered with ceramic tiles or finished with Q3 surfacing and paint. The result is a spa that looks truly luxurious with dimensions that affords its business guests all the relaxation they have earned.
