When Austrian drylining specialist Sperer Acoustics GmbH needed a new headquarters, they decided to make their building a real showcase. Using AQUAPANEL^® Cement Board Outdoor they constructed a spectacular edifice with a light, floating appearance that forms a highly visible landmark in the city of Wels.

Arriving in the Austrian city of Wels from the nearby major centre Linz by car means driving on the B1. Once within the city limits, one of the first sights to the right is an outstanding new building, characterised by a slightly irregular form. It is clad with a homogenous façade sporting 120 evenly distributed circular holes. As a second hull, this textile façade connects different building parts and forms a harmonious exterior with a futuristic look – by day as well as by night, when the building is scenically illuminated. Designed by the office SONOS Architektur from Königswiesen, this is the new headquarters of Sperer Acoustics.

The company is a drylining specialist, certified for the construction of the Knauf Exterior Wall with AQUAPANEL^® Technology Inside. So when the need for a new building arose, it was only a matter of consequence to use state-of-the-art drylining technology to create an office building that could serve as a reference project as well. The walls behind the textile are made with the system solution, consisting of AQUAPANEL^® Cement Board Outdoor, mounted on metal profiles and equipped with corresponding insulation. The 100 % water-resistant boards are based on mineral materials and are as resilient as they are strong. In total 600 m² of cement boards were used here – forming a solid base for the building, which then was covered with its jointless textile skin. From now on, Sperer Acoustics has a new home to work in – and convince new customers with.
